Bath & Brush
Our baths consist of an initial hands-on skin and coat evaluation. At this time any skin or health problems are noted and proper treatment is recommended. Then the ears are cleaned, hair plucked and nails trimmed. The pet is then bathed with the required shampoos and conditioners, and the anal glands are externally expressed. Any additional client requested services such as teeth brushing, SPA treatments, dipping, or the FURminator® treatment are also performed at this time. After the bath that consists of two shampoos and rinses along with a condtioner, the pet is towel dried, velocity dried, and then finally, fluff or kennel dried. Finishing consists of a comb through of the entire pet with a fine-toothed greyhound comb. If requested, cologne and a bandana or bows are applied.
Grooms consist of everything in the bath & brush with the inclusion of the hair styling/trim specified for your pet's breed or coat condition.
Grooming should be done at least once a month. This is done to keep your pet's coat free from dirt, oil, matts and parasites. Grooming also to keeps the nails, anal glands and ears in a healthy condition. If you go longer between grooms, we suggest at least getting a bath and brush in between. We also suggest setting up your next appointment when you pick up your pet as we book up quickly. Please note that all prices quoted over the phone are base estimates only and the size of the pet, the condition of its coat and its demeanor or health will dictate final pricing. Sales tax is not included.
Puppies should start the grooming process as soon as possible. We suggest starting them just after they have their second set of puppy shots or around 12 weeks old. We find that having an early start on grooming leads to a happier, healthier pet.
FURminator® Shed-less Treatment
The FURminator® Treatment will make both long and short-haired dogs look and feel better. Within one to two treatments, the FURminator® has been proven to reduce shedding up to 90%.
The FURminator® starts with a bath & brush. Once the pet is clean, it is then soaked in the FURminator® Shed-less solution to loosen dead hair and undercoat. After soaking the pet is velocity dried to remove a large portion of the loose hair, and then the FURminator® tool is used to remove the rest.

Daily Coat Maintenance
In order to provide proper coat care at home, owners should brush their pets often. The proper tools are just as important as daily brushing. We suggest using a medium/fine greyhound comb to remove matting and undercoat from long and dual-coat breeds. Pay special attention to the areas under the legs, neck, rear, and belly. Once the comb can be run through all the pet's hair with ease, then finish up with a slicker brush to smooth the coat and remove any loose hair the comb missed. You can also use the slicker brush before the comb to work through stubborn matting and undercoat, but just be careful not to brush burn the pet. If you have a short hair breed, a daily once over with a slicker brush can remove dead hair, and stimulate blood flow to the pet's skin.
A daily regimen of brushing may be hard to start, but once the habit is established you will find you have a healthier, happier pet.
Oral hygiene is very important the the overall welfare of your pet. Daily brushing can prevent bad breath, tartar build up, and tooth loss. There are many brands of brushes and pastes on the market. Make sure the toothpaste you use is specifically formulated for pets, though, as human toothpaste can cause stomach problems.
Tartar build up and plaque can also be reduced by specially formulated pet foods, water additives, and dental pet toys. Check with your vet to see what is recommended for your pet's special dental needs.
Shake, Rattle & Roll
Most of us have seen it. The child who holds on to the leg of a parent anxious at being left on the first day of school. Well, the same goes for pets. No matter the size, breed, or demeanor of the pet, most don't like being left. The standard reaction to separation anxiety is to shake, while some cower and others whine. All of these are common stress reactions. But there are ways to help alleviate your pet's stress when visiting the groomer.
First, bring your pet in its own carrier. If the pet is too large for a carrier, then bring it in on a leash. Hand the leash to the receptionist and leave without much adieu. Once the owner is out of sight, most pets snap right out of the stress reaction and are fine. Second, never offer praise or reassurance to the pet when it is showing stress. This only reinforces the behavior, and lets the pet know its OK to feel anxious at the groomers. We suggest all owners watch Cesar Millan's "The Dog Whisper" when wanting to know more about stress reactions and how to overcome them.
Nails require constant care to keep them from growing too long. Dogs needs their nails trimmed at least every four weeks. Nail trim onlys are a walk-in service provided from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday-Friday.
